Welcome!I am a licensed clinical social worker and therapist who specializes in trauma healing via virtual individual therapy for adults.
I work with people who have experienced what is often clearly recognized as trauma, such as sexual assault or intimate partner violence, as well as those whose experiences may not carry that label but have had a similarly lasting impact. These are often the cumulative, less visible experiences that shape how we move through the world over time: absent or inconsistent caregivers, chronically unhealthy relationships, growing up with caretakers who were overly critical, emotionally unavailable, overbearing, or struggling with untreated mental health concerns. While these experiences may not always be named as “trauma,” they can profoundly affect a person’s sense of safety, worth, and connection. My approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered. We work together to determine the direction of our work and the areas you want to explore more deeply. I am not here to judge your choices or tell you what to do. Instead, I help you better understand what is working in your life, what feels stuck or unsatisfying, and what you want to shift so you can move toward your goals and a greater sense of fulfillment. In therapy with me, you can expect a flexible, supportive space where your comfort comes first. I believe therapy should be helpful, not another stressor in your life. Sessions are laid-back; you’re welcome to bring your food, wear your pajamas or your hair bonnet, etc. if that helps you feel at ease. At the same time, I maintain clear boundaries to keep our work safe and productive. My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself and focus on what matters to you. I integrate social justice, racial equity, intersectional feminism, and other diversity, equity, and inclusion perspectives into my work. When relevant, we may explore how systems of privilege, oppression, discrimination, or shame have shaped your experiences and identity. These conversations can also include reflection on our therapeutic relationship and how our identities may interact in the room, as part of creating a thoughtful, affirming, and transparent therapeutic space. I am an LGBTQIAP2 affirming provider.

About MeI go by Gabby and use she/her pronouns. I live in New York City with my spouse, our dog, and our cat, though I’m originally from Upstate New York. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy taking Barre classes, going to Broadway shows and concerts, and traveling whenever I can. One of my favorite trips was to Germany, where I visited the small town my Oma (great-grandmother) was from and saw the house she grew up in before coming to the United States. I share this so you have a sense of who I am as a person, and I look forward to getting to know you as well.
